Freeze-dried means food is frozen solid, then all the water is sucked out in a special vacuum. Instead of melting into a puddle, the ice inside turns straight into vapor and disappears.
What you get is food that’s super light, lasts forever, still tastes pretty close to normal, and can either be eaten crunchy or brought back to life by adding water.

Yeah, totally. It’s just regular food. Just less wet, and shelf stable.

Generally, Freeze dried food lasts up to 20 years in a dark, climate controlled environment. That being said, I prefer to have mylar bags that are transparent to show off Cabin Crunch in all of its beauty. Transparent bags do shorten the shelf life.
Unopened Cabin Crunch bags should last 3 years after the production date. Opened Bags Should be eaten within 1-2 weeks. Better yet, 12 hours. :)
